Privacy Policy

Who we are

Wallerson Allied Health Pty Ltd (ACN 696 683 897) (“Wallerson,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates a multidisciplinary allied health consulting suite at C01, 37 Bosisto Street, Richmond VIC 3121. We rent rooms to independent health practitioners and offer clinical supervision and practice mentoring.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website, www.wallersonalliedhealth.com.au, and in the course of our business. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What this policy does and does not cover

This policy covers personal information that Wallerson itself collects — for example, when you make an enquiry through our website or contact us about renting a room, supervision or mentoring.

It does not cover client health records. Practitioners who work from our suite run their own independent practices. They, not Wallerson, collect and hold their clients’ health information and are responsible for their own privacy obligations. If you are a client of a practitioner at our suite, please refer to that practitioner’s own privacy policy.

What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • your name and contact details (such as email address and phone number);

  • your profession or discipline, and information about your practice, when you enquire about renting a room, supervision or mentoring;

  • the content of any message or enquiry you send us;

  • if you become a tenant, supervisee or mentee, information needed to enter and manage that arrangement; and

  • technical information collected automatically when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed (see “Cookies and analytics” below).

We do not seek to collect sensitive information through our website. Please do not include client details or health information in website enquiry forms.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you — when you complete an enquiry form, email or call us, or enter into an agreement with us. We also collect limited technical information automatically through our website and its analytics tools. Our website is hosted on the Wix platform, which may process technical data on our behalf.

Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiries and communicate with you;

  • assess and manage room rental, supervision and mentoring arrangements;

  • provide and administer our services and maintain our business records;

  • improve our website and understand how it is used; and

  • comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented or the law requires or permits it.

Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:

  • our service providers and contractors (for example, website hosting, email, accounting and IT providers) who help us operate our business, on the basis that they protect it;

  • our professional advisers, such as our lawyers and accountant, where reasonably necessary; and

  • government bodies, regulators or law enforcement where required or authorised by law.

Some of our service providers may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help it function and to understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the website may not work as intended if you do. Analytics tools may collect aggregated, non-identifying information about website usage.

Security

We take reasonable physical, electronic and procedural steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information we hold.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. In some circumstances we may be permitted by law to decline a request, in which case we will explain why.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website, with the “last updated” date shown above.
